College workshops for juniors

Juniors will have two opportunities to learn about the college application process and transition this summer.

1. CISD will host it's annual Destination College workshop on 6/12 all day at College Park HS.  Registration information will be available soon.  This workshop will also include sessions for parents.

2. TACAC  (Texas Association of College Admission Counselors) also hosts an event called Camp College. Details are below:
This is a unique opportunity to spend 2 nights on a college campus working with mentors on the college admissions process.  Camp College will be hosted at UT-Arlington from Monday June 9, 2014 – Wednesday June 11, 2014.  Students will spend two nights and three days learning the ins and outs of how to select a college or university, write quality essays, and apply for financial aid.  Camp College is free to all participants, and free transportation will be provided from the Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio  metro areas.

Interested students must submit an on-line application as well as additional paperwork that will be emailed to them upon completion of the on-line application.  All applications and additional paperwork must be completed by April 1, 2014.   Students will be notified whether or not they are selected to attend by May 1, 2014.

If you or your students have questions about Camp College, please email Jordan Sass at jsass@uh.edu or Cassie Kimbrough at cassie.kimbrough@uta.edu.
